We spent less than $100/night for a suite and even less for a regular room. Again, not the kind of suites I have had in the past, but this is an old hotel-casino in the middle of the desert - what do you expect? I gave it an "above average" comparing it to other motels/hotels in Winnemucca not to other accomodations I have had in the past, then again I spent alot more for the better rooms and suites. No kitchenette though, but there is a full-service restaurant in the casino with reasonably priced meals. The hotel even has two "suites" - separate bedroom with a door. Smoking is allowed in the hallways, Casino and restaurant. However, the room decor is somewhat dated AND yes, there is occassionally smell of cig smoke - remember this is Nevada, not California. Our experience has been the rooms are clean and inexpensive. I agree with other reviewers that it is not the best hotel I have ever stayed at, but for Winnemucca it is probably the best there. My family recommended Red Lion saying it is the best in Winnemucca. I have family who live in Winnemucca, so we stay at the Red Lion every time we visit.
